Decisions about protecting endangered species should be made according to the law.

This amendment would legislatively remove endangered species protections for grey wolves in Wyoming and the Great Lakes.

They don't feel that they do. And if you had a big group, after all, you support everybody's right to carry a gun on there, including terrorists.

The Corps should not be prohibited from implementing common sense restrictions to protect critical infrastructure.

This is such an important bipartisan bill, including our amendment, it is Heller, Feinstein, Boxer, Reid.

I think it is a dangerous precedent.

This could be the last amendment on our side.

Protection of these structures is of the highest priority, so allowing individuals to carry loaded firearms near these facilities has national security implications.

I still feel that it is better not to change the Marine Mammal Protection Act.

I am going to offer Amendment No. 2, if I might, Mr. Chairman.

Instead of burying our heads in the sand and ignoring potential impacts to children and families, I think we should make sure that experts can continue to look at this issue.

What we should be doing here is the opposite of what we are doing.

And guess how this came about? A lawsuit by the people of our great Nation who said, wait a minute, we have a Clean Water Act and we have no protection from these pesticides.

Pesticides have been linked to a variety of human health impacts.

It shocks me. It shocks me.

My understanding from my legal team here is that there was nothing in those agreements that overrode Federal law to conserve and preserve our wildlife refuges.

When you save the environment, you bring tourists, because there is nothing that tourists want to see more than God's creation unspoiled.

If not, I will have to oppose the legislation.

The EPA does not support this amendment. Let's get that straight.

I have offered four amendments to address the most serious concerns in the bill.

The bill creates a broad new exemption from the Toxic Substances Control Act with no ability to determine whether the products exempted are harmful to people.

They do not support this. They have taken no position on it.

This amendment modifies Section 2, which creates a new permanent exemption from the Toxic Substances Control Act for a wide array of sport fishing equipment.

I wish to speak in support of the Boozman amendment. I won't take the Committee's time to say why.
