“it is just interesting, I am pleased to participate with you this evening, but as we mentioned, we were trying and we still are trying to give power back to the folks at home, move that money and power and influence from Washington, DC to each and every one of our special places; for me, to California. And I think it is really something when you think that you gave your word, you kept your word, you kept your promises and you are called an extremist for doing so. I would just say that for doing so, I have been punished more or less with having that outside money come in. I often tell people, if you try to go to Washington and try to change the way things were, then you see why nothing was done for 40 years. Because when you step out of the box from the way they did things, you are punished with those ads and misinformation. I think the gentleman from Maryland is right. I am hoping that the good Americans across this Nation will be able to see through this and will again go to the polls and reelect those that are trying to work for them and give them back their Government.”
