Much remains to be done on public lands.

We've had the political will to pass policies that create the demand for the clean energy economy.

Green-collar jobs are here and growing and exist in many of the states of this committee's members.

I believe in their core they want you to have the resources and the attention and the support and the leadership that you deserve to do that job.

Now, I join with the comments of a number of you in applauding the President for signaling a new direction and a willingness to commit the resources and the attention to our Federal workforce.

If good people, really decent, hard working, committed, dedicated, people have a sense of mission are not happy in what they are doing there must be something wrong with the organizations that needs to be fixed.

I think it is disgraceful, it is the only word you can use, what has been done, and it has been done to the Federal workforce over the last few years.

The public I see really wants the Federal workforce to do its job, and appreciates it when the Federal workforce functions well and at a high level.

But there needs to be, at some point, a revision update of the particular laws that I referenced.

We have a world-class tourist industry which has flourished because of our natural beauty, but the impact of climate change on winter snowfalls, agriculture, and our public lands poses a major threat to the economic vitality of my state.
