Let me get beyond just platitudes on this. DOJ said in 2012 that you would conduct an assessment of these programs to see where there is overlap and where money perhaps is being wasted.

I am unable to go back to my constituents and say here is the reason that these people with multiple felonies were released into the community.

I share the concerns that some of my colleagues have expressed about some of the, for lack of a better term, extra-constitutional actions taken by the President with regard to the ACA.

What I would suggest is that it is not routine to go for a year, a year and a half, 2 years before you come back with an assessment that you said that you would do with regard to these programs.

I applaud the United Nations for moving expeditiously and for our representation there for prodding the action that is been taken.

The death of two French troops just in the last couple of weeks, how has that affected the French Government's ability?

I just think we have spent a lot of money there, obviously--$683 billion, total, in Afghanistan, and in military and economic aid.

Like I said, we just want to make sure that we're not treating this legislation differently than we've treated other legislation or land-conveyance issues.

It's something that we're all concerned about and we want to make sure that there are sufficient consultations.

I don't think I was as clear as I should have been. It's my fault.

We ought to be proactive wherever we can for wildfire prevention, and so I appreciate the efforts in this legislation introduced by Senator Lee here.

I believe they are, which is why I cosponsored this legislation with Senator McCain.

This free flow across borders that has been so healthy and been necessary for the growth of this kind of communication would be disrupted.

I look forward to more transparency, whether in this legislation or some version of it or in some other way to make sure that people are confident that their public officials have transparency in mind and the best interests of the public…
