We have a Presidential election that is going to be occurring real soon. We don't know who is going to be elected and whether they are going to have the same desire to combat the drug cartels in northern Mexico.

So were the funds not necessary--did--are we overly funding these programs? Because it seems like we are actually extending and expanding what they are supposed to be doing by putting this additional money into new programs.
