Richard Shelby is a former United States Senator from Alabama, serving from January 3, 1987, until January 3, 2021. A member of the Republican Party, Shelby was known for his work on various committees, including Appropriations and Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. Throughout his tenure, he focused on issues such as military funding, economic development, and infrastructure improvements in Alabama.
I believe that the President has sent us two good nominees. One, we have waited a long time on the Vice Chairman of Supervision for the Fed--Mr. Quarles, Mr. Otting--and I think they are outstanding nominees.
I believe we have a distinguished group here from Mr. Compton to Mr. Campbell.
I am also proud of all of the nominees for accepting the responsibility of Federal service.
I hope you and Senator Brown can expedite these nominees as soon as possible.
