Although in a market economy, if the hospitals pay more for exactly the same services, it is pretty hard to argue that that isn't a significant factor.
Reimbursement should be equal for the same service provided to a cancer patient regardless of whether the service is delivered in the hospital outpatient department or a physician's office.
And I have heard examples and I am sure you have heard examples of people who are choosing not to continue care or treatment because of the distance to travel.
as mentioned by Representative Rogers, this results in increased travel and hassle for patients undergoing cancer treatment.
