I join Alaskans in offering condolences as we learn of the plane crash in Cape Newenham.

I would expect this from terrorists and dictators, but not here in America.

Alaska is a cornerstone of American defense; investments like this from the Coast Guard are critical as we work to improve infrastructure on bases across the state to maintain our national security.

Where there’s opportunities to put certain guardrails in our spending bills — there are tools, there are mechanisms — we have to be diligent to it.
