I am pleased that we have been able to schedule a markup to consider several military withdrawal bills. These withdrawals of our public lands are critical to support military readiness and can only be accomplished through Congressional action.

The country needs an Attorney General who will check the worst impulses of this administration. I hope Mr. Blanche is able to achieve that, if confirmed, but I simply do not have confidence that will be the case.
The recent lease sale results were not surprising, given the acreage already leased and the continued partisan push against responsible development.
I have had numerous constructive meetings with Mr. Blanche and he comes across as decent and capable.
The Senate has leverage over the fund only because Blanche's nomination is pending.
