Most utilities are heavily regulated, and as a consequence the States have a considerable influence on determining the return on investment. But one thing that wasn't mentioned is that these utilities have provided reliable power to the residents of the individual States since they came online-- reliable power from a source that emitted no emissions, contributed nothing to greenhouse gases, and basically the cleanest source of power that we know today on a significant magnitude to maintaining air quality. So the environmental contribution by nuclear power from the standpoint of its emissions is really beyond compare. So let's acknowledge, indeed, that the utilities have done a job. They have provided power which is reliable and clean. Without them there is no considered replacement that has been identified.
