I would just close by urging my colleagues to support this legislation. The House has under consideration the conference report (109-413) to the bill H.R. 889 to authorize appropriations for the Coast Guard for fiscal year 2006, to make technical corrections to various laws administered by the Coast Guard, and for other purposes.

There is such hypocrisy here. There is no justice in this, and I do believe you have used the money correctly.
Although I have long supported the goal of fighting IUU fishing in foreign fisheries and leveling the playing field for U.S. seafood producers, SIMP is not up to the task. This program should be reformed, not expanded.
We can help address the need for emergency food bank support by providing an additional $900 million for food purchases through TEFAP.
