This morning in the Commerce Committee, the Committee passed with strong bipartisan support a bill of mine and co-sponsored by Senator Whitehouse from Rhode Island that would set up a domestic process through which the Secretary of Commerce can preserve the Bowhead Whale Subsistence Harvest for Alaska Native Foods Security if the International Whaling Commission fails to act as they're working toward a reauthorization of the quota in September 2018.
