The Russian Federation does not want to end the war and continues to escalate global tensions. That is why U.S. military support is crucial for Ukraine.

As an independent country we simply cannot accept any agreements without us. And I articulate this very clearly to our partners. We will not accept any bilateral negotiations on Ukraine without us.

A few days ago, President Trump told me about his conversation with Putin. Not once did he mention that America needs Europe at that table. That says a lot.

Let’s be honest – now we can’t rule out the possibility that America might say ‘No’ to Europe on issues that threaten it.

The old relationship between Europe and America is ending and the continent needs to adjust to that.

The old days are over when America supported Europe just because it always had.
