Volodymyr Zelenskyy is the President of Ukraine, having taken office in May 2019. A former comedian and television producer, he gained prominence through his role in the television series 'Servant of the People,' where he played a schoolteacher who unexpectedly becomes president. Zelenskyy ran for office as a political outsider, campaigning on anti-corruption and reform agendas. His leadership has been particularly noted during the ongoing conflict with Russia, where he has sought to rally international support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
We look forward to continuing our joint work with Germany to protect lives, bring real peace closer to Ukraine, and strengthen Europe.
It is very important to have the support of the president, and support of senate, congress, your two parties, but first of all the support for your people.
Knowing that he did not succeed in occupying us, we do not know where he will go.
I would be willing to resign in exchange for peace in Ukraine or NATO membership.
The Russian Federation does not want to end the war and continues to escalate global tensions.
I hope it will not have influence on other steps of the United States, and they will not cancel or stop or freeze any support, especially military support to Ukraine.
If (it guarantees) peace for Ukraine, if you really need me to resign, I am ready. I can exchange it for NATO.
Ukraine needs the U.S. to support it against Russia, not to mediate between the two.
I will never accept any decisions between the United States and Russia about Ukraine, never.
Together with America and Europe, peace can be more secure, and that is our goal.
Unfortunately, President Trump – I have great respect for him as a leader of a nation that we have great respect for, the American people who always support us – unfortunately lives in this disinformation space.
