I am so glad we are addressing it legislatively here today.

Chairman Smith, I hope that the members who were listening will apply all of the comments I made before my amendment was read to my amendment.

This Administration has found a way, has seen fit to have a special envoy for climate change.

I call on the government of Nigeria to prioritize efforts to prevent conflict before it starts and address it when it arises including by ensuring that freedom of religion is both recognized and respected.

I must oppose this bill and encourage my colleagues to do the same.

This bill will fix that deadly mistake.

It is extremely rare to see legislative efforts that seek to reduce the oversight power of our chamber and our committee over matters of national security, but this, unfortunately, is one of those efforts.

We should not unilaterally cede these powers to the executive branch.

The issues revealed in our 6-month process of reviewing FMS data fell into three buckets.

This bill requires our arms sales process to grow.

The Administration has turned a blind eye to the crisis.

I do not believe that the Department of State needs another special envoy with the rank of Ambassador.

I urge my colleagues to vote yes on this bill and I yield back.
