Conflict

There needs to be something more than the mere absence of war in life.

We have not yet ended the war in Vietnam.

The enemy may throw new forces into the battle.

I am sorry that this is so, but until men and nations are content to leave one another in peace it will be so.

Do we believe that these things can come about peacefully?

This war--like the war in Vietnam--is not a simple one.

Some people are paid to provoke fights and some are paid to prevent them.

Difficult days lie ahead of us in Vietnam, until the Communists change their minds about fighting.

The Communists are going to fail in Vietnam!

But in Korea in 1950--as in Vietnam today--we acted to stop the aggression.

We are fighting tonight in Vietnam to make that stand come true.

They also know what is at stake and are willing to fight and die for it.

Such men today are in Vietnam.

Peace must be fought for.

The conflict in South Vietnam is confusing for many of our people.

Their dead by body count is in excess of 10,000.

How joyous it would be if these great resources could he put, instead, to the service of peace.

It is not any problem to start a war. That is the easiest thing in the world.
