The work in behalf of children is so intimately a part of the life of the people that its control and direction need to be kept very close to them.

I AM PLEASED to remember that tomorrow is your sixtieth birthday and to congratulate you most cordially upon this milestone in your useful career of public service in so many constructive philanthropies not only of distinguished value to the Jewish people but also of outstanding benefit to all especially the children.

Christmas is the children's day and older folk can enter into its joys only when led by their hands.

Please give the children my affectionate greetings when they have their party on the Steamship Leviathan on December 24th, and my best wishes for a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
