Not only have they restored the mill to its condition at the turn of the century.

Mr. Speaker, today I offer my appreciation and that of all my colleagues for the spirit of volunteerism and community that characterize the unselfish dedication of the Foundation and its many members over the last 16 years to preserve this singular part of the history of Newton County and Southwest Missouri.

The point is, cuts of this magnitude, that we have seen in the State of Maine and throughout the country, cannot be sustained without hurting senior citizens.

Senate Republicans are committed to enacting legislation to preserve, strengthen, and save Medicare for current and future generations.

The regulatory overkill of the Clinton administration has already exceeded the savings projected by the balanced budget amendment.

This solves the problem. For one thing, it eliminates another 15-percent cut that is scheduled to go into effect in October of next year.

More than 2,300 home health agencies across the country have been forced to close their doors as a result of the regulatory burden and the flawed payment system.

15 percent cuts consistently are really devastating the home health care agency.

We ought to finish funding this mandate.

We have an obligation to the classrooms and to our teachers to help our teachers maintain order.

It is, to my way of thinking, a situation that cannot continue.

It is Federal law that is mandating it.

We have a crisis that does require attention.

We need to get our dollars to the classroom.

I have had a number of complaints about that.
