The motion passed today protects our workers, our energy sector and that renewables future we all want to see.

While prices have fallen since the peak in March, ongoing international uncertainty means further increases cannot be ruled out this winter.

More than 6,700 payments have been made since the Scottish Government launched this scheme to ensure households with the greatest need could meet the cost of keeping their homes warm.

Crucially, none of the challenges identified are insurmountable but many of the key policy levers remained reserved to Westminster.

Scotland’s energy sector is one of the true leaders of the energy transition with the ability to attract serious and sustained inward investment in the face of global economic uncertainties.

But there is no room for abuse.
