Madam Secretary, what action is Treasury taking to educate small businesses like mine in Texas on their upcoming obligations?

As a small business owner and auto dealer, I have dealt with the supply chain challenges firsthand.

When talking to business owners back in my district... they have expressed their frustration.

This proposed rule goes beyond the simple statute and lacks clarity on compliance guidelines.

Over the past few years, businesses across the country have struggled to maintain necessary inventory due to the global supply chain constraints.

This is not a partisan issue. It literally is going to save Main Street.

They have expressed their frustration with insufficient information coming out of Treasury on how to comply and file returns properly.

When we do tap into our full strength and potential as a nation we are at our best.

I would like to start by highlighting my frustration with the stripping of some very important provisions from those earlier negotiations.

The way we represent ourselves to the world, the way we present ourselves to the world, and the people that we send out to represent our Nation also matters.

This is not a box-checking exercise.

I believe that allowing private companies to be stablecoin issuers is very dangerous.

I will not allow this to be pulled into the weeds to try to become a game of gotcha.

We need to have an honest conversation here about the value of diversity, about the barriers that exist for vast swaths of our country, and how we can realize our full potential in every respect.

I am particularly concerned about food deserts, broadband access and economic development and rural communities.

I am not ashamed to say it. I am not ashamed to associate myself with you or with the President.

I believe that this industry ought to have diversity.

waiting until the last minute hurts our global leadership and credibility on the world stage.
