I think you have seen the party moving into the wilderness politically over the last two elections, because they have -- they have moved away from those very core ideas that Republicans and conservatives identify with.
The reality is, the president has to choose between delivering to a radical, but small and vocal, portion of his base or keeping the support of a lot of moderates that he needs to pass other issues, like health care reform.
I think people want the president to succeed in doing the right thing.
This is about redefining marriage. It is not about what -- you try to compare this to interracial marriage. It is not the same thing.
