Well, I think he knows his history. Bill Clinton took on the ban on homosexuals serving openly in the military and it cost him greatly in terms of political capital.

Yesterday, in his speech, before the Notre Dame student body, the graduating class, he admitted that there -- there may not be common ground, there may not be a resolution, that we may have to agree to disagree.
