The U.S. policy emphasizes condemning and promoting religious freedom globally.

This is about redefining marriage. It's not about what -- you try to compare this to interracial marriage. It's not the same thing.
Unfortunately, what we are seeing increasingly is that if you are an American on foreign soil, and you are held captive, you are alone.
