Thank you for the opportunity to testify about the urgency of raising the Federal minimum wage.

If we are able to raise wages across the board, particularly for low-wage and middle-skill workers, we are simply going to have more people spending more money.

We need to skill workers up so that they can compete for those high-wage, high-skill jobs, but that is difficult for a lot of workers.

I think, frankly, that it is a failure of political will. It is really incumbent upon Congress to provide those resources.
