I am very happy and humbled to be part of that outstanding workforce that, on a daily basis, helps veterans remind all of us why we sleep soundly at night.

Now more than ever we are seeing the need for DoD and VA to work together to provide quality care for the Nation's Service members and Veterans.

Customer service is the prime directive. When an American veteran comes to VA it is not up to him to employ a team of lawyers to get VA to say 'YES.'

I intend to exercise those powers whenever I see a problem because veterans are first; the institution is not first.
