The text of the amendment is as follows: At the end of subtitle C of title XII, add the following: SEC. 1229. PROHIBITION ON USE OF FUNDS TO MAINTAIN A UNITED STATES MILITARY PRESENCE IN SYRIA. None of the funds authorized to be appropriated or otherwise made available to carry out this Act may be used to maintain a United States military presence in Syria beginning on the date that is 1 year after the date of the enactment of this Act, except pursuant to a specific statutory authorization enacted into law in accordance with the War Powers Resolution (50 U.S.C. 1541 et seq.).
