Michael G. Mullen: “I'm more afraid of the red ink than the red menace.”

It sickened me yesterday to see security personnel, including members of the National Guard forcibly and violently clearing the path through Lafayette Square to accommodate the President's visit outside St. John's Church.

The most significant threat to our National security is our debt.

This is a moment when more investment in diplomacy and development is needed, not less.

I urge you to support and encourage the expansion and deepening of these channels of communication with Russia to enhance the security of the American people and our allies.
