I sent Mr. Novelli a letter today resigning my membership, withdrawing my membership from AARP. I remember so clearly members from the organization from the Washington office coming to my office to tell me in very strong language this summer about the four principles that they were high bound must be in a prescription medication bill, a Medicare modernization bill, including defined benefits, including no means testing, including other standards, all of which are fast disappearing from the legislation as it is being prepared to bring to the floor for a conference vote before we adjourn here.
