Protecting tribal sacred areas and cultural resources is essential to upholding the federal trust responsibility.

The Federal Government has a responsibility under our Treaty of 1868 and a trust obligation to protect and assist the nation, all tribal nations, securing and developing our people, land, and resources.

The realities of life on the Navajo Nation is harsh. And in many places, there is a lack of water, electricity, and the basic needs of life.

The United States must address all the health, cultural, and environmental consequences of uranium extraction and processing on Navajo lands.
