We have a lot of leverage over Venezuela.

Yes, they're higher today, but we're doing everything we can to push them down.

You need to get secure voter rolls. You need to have rule of law, we need to release the political prisoners and get the conditions for free and fair elections. But those are coming.

Under President Biden, we had over a dozen refineries closed in the United States, and Gavin Newsom doubled down and strangled two more refineries in California in the last 12 months.

Any government that took power in Venezuela would say, 'wow, we're going to draw more capital, grow our production, increase jobs and tax revenues in Venezuela, and tighten our relationship with the United States.' That's a pretty big win.

For 17 years, Democrat policies have been attack hydrocarbons, get as many refineries and coal plants closed. You could summarize their energy and climate policies in two words, expensive energy.

The way to solve a supply shortage is to grow supply.

But look, we’re trying to end a 47-year conflict as Iran dashes to develop nuclear weapons and wreak havoc on their neighbors and threaten the world economy.

Thank God for President Trump‘s courage to take this on.

It won’t be the ultra-heavy Venezuelan crude.

The extra barrels from this deal, the extra barrels from these investments, those can be easily traded.

We hold a little bit of the very light crude we produce from shale … and so we want to keep some variety of crude in [the SPR], but it’ll be medium grades.
