He was well aware of the risk to energy flows that were coming out of the Persian Gulf region.

The president has taken a strong stand that Iran, the world's greatest terrorist regime, cannot and will not have nuclear weapons.

If his decisions were political, he would have just kicked the can down the road and delivered a nuclear-armed Iran to the next president.

For the past decade, state and federal leaders have harmed Coloradans’ wallets and energy security with efforts to force reliable generation off the grid.

Energy is different,' Wright said. 'It’s just central to economies to security to foreign relations.

It’s why it’s a team — it’s very much a team effort,' Wright said.

Energy has 'become a fabric of international discussion,' Wright told the Washington Examiner while on an early September flight from Venezuela to Washington.

“We are reallocating funds that were already dedicated towards the United States electricity grid, but just driving them towards reliability and affordability instead of making things more expensive for political posturing,” Wright said.

“We lost our way, and we started to spend money only based on decarbonization goals, forgetting American people, forgetting taxpayers, forgetting jobs and opportunity,” Wright said.

“Every project is evaluated in economics — Is that going to increase energy supply, drive down energy prices, and increase energy security? Because that’s how America thrives,” Wright said.

“Energy is life,” Wright said in a news conference near Allentown, where he met with Lehigh Valley leaders.
