This is my first hearing as chairman of the Legislative Branch Subcommittee.

the word is out that people can get off the hook, so to speak, if they are not Indian and they do something on Indian land.

I think you are doing a pretty darn good job considering the problems with 9-11 and the mail.

You know, that ought to be something we deal with sometime in this committee--the history of it and how Indian people use it.
