If someone is here committing serious or violent crime, if we have relevant information, we -- our goal is to keep the community safe.

Our policy and this is true across the state of California, is that we do not have our local police officers engaged in enforcement actions that are primarily related to somebody's status or enforcing an immigration law.

My general view is if you are in our city or country and you're undocumented and you're committing serious or violent crimes, you should be deported.

We need answers to how that happened.

I've been in constant contact with our fire commanders, with county, state and federal officials. I took the fastest route back, which included being on a military plane, which facilitated our communications.

I don't know what is going on with this water issue. Obviously, that's something that that officials here have to look into and figure out.

I spoke with President Biden today, and Governor Newsom earlier today, and they assured me of full federal and state support.
