Would the Liberal government would be so bold to tell the city of Winnipeg, Calgary or Ottawa that they were committed to progressively realize the human right to clean drinking water in the city?
They have now confirmed that they do not even recognize clean drinking water as a human right for First Nations.
In 2015, when the Liberal government was elected, they promised to end all water boil advisories.
Certainly as Indigenous Peoples we have opinions that we agree on and disagree on. That’s called a democracy.
I would encourage her to stay true to the promises she made to First Nations women across the country...
The government is saying that it cannot move too fast. This is a blatant double standard, which by now has become totally unsurprising from the Carney Liberal government.
It’s clear the program isn’t helping Inuit and the federal government must replace it with a food security strategy that upholds the voices and rights of Inuit and northerners.
