I predict Newt Gingrich is going to win South Carolina.

I do think that there's a prioritization to federal issues in a presidential campaign.

The elephant in the room is the United States economy. It's spending. It's the economy. It's jobs.

Newt's remarks last night were about the poor.

The way to get those people help is as Newt talked about through private sector programs and reliance on the private sector.

There's not a government program or spending program that's a solution to that.

I think there's too great a sensitivity about people, who just say Republicans are evil, Republicans are racist, Republicans are wrong.

Oversensitivity that starts to accuse Republicans who are saying the solutions to the most intractable poverty problems are found in the private sector and the government needs to do more to put people in private sector program.

I'm proud to be on Newt's side and on the Republicans' side on that issue.

The problem has been there's such an overreliance, particularly in the Democratic Party, that the solution to poverty is more government spending and more federal programs.

It's oversensitivity that starts to accuse Republicans who are saying that the solutions to the most intractable poverty problems are found in the private sector.

Newt has got to decide that. Newt can do tremendous damage and Newt could never win the presidency.

Newt has to make a judgment call about what does he want to get out of being in this race.

If that money can wound Mitt Romney, then Newt might be the last man standing.

I think the Bain attacks are definitely going to hurt Newt as well. They could also hurt Romney.

The reason that we have these super PACs is Campaign Finance Reform.

Now that Barack Obama has broken this egg, it will not get put back together.

Barack Obama is not a reformer. He didn't come to change Washington. He came to preserve his own brand.

the reason that's so destructive, especially for Social Security, that if Social Security is no longer a retirement fund and which you take money and give it to the government, they are supposed to invest it for you in Social Security.

The Democrats always want to pay for everything with another tax hike on somebody.

My message to the president and to Senator Harry Reid is congratulations. You're now governing in two-month increments.

And that's my point about the splits. There are so many splits, this is so hard to handicap.

But these issues really are not sticking to Newt. People are saying this about Newt, but this is not what's going to hurt Newt. What's going to hurt Newt is whether Newt blows himself up.

That's consistency. That's character.
