As Dr. Yergin noted earlier in his testimony not only this time but previously, there is indeed an abundance of natural gas located in the Marcellus and Utica shale gases in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, and it's estimated that this region will produce about 37 percent of the Nation's natural gas production by the year 2040.

But it appears to me the policies that have been put forth in the last ten months are doing diametrically opposite.
I think there is an alternative that we don't have to face all the problems because they are telling me we may have hundreds of thousands of miles of transmission lines we have to put in as we make this transition.
With all due respect, Chairman Rush--and we have been friends for years--this hearing seems to be taking on an air of distraction from what Americans are really dealing with across this country.
