The issue is whether or not we want to save Amtrak... If we want to save Amtrak, we have to pass a bill that can immediately be approved by the Senate... If we leave this House today or tomorrow or Friday and there has not been Amtrak reform passed, when we come back... there will not be an Amtrak as we know it, and indeed there may not be an Amtrak. Why do I make that kind of dire prediction? The one thing that all of us have agreed upon... is that Amtrak has great financial problems.
