I think we have to acknowledge something, and that is that the Biden administration has gone to war with the American public.

I call on Congress and this administration to act and act swiftly to address the crisis we have at the border.

I want to correct one statement.

Over 100,000 Americans have died of overdose in the last year.

This violence will not stop until we secure our border.

The cartels that illegally smuggle immigrants into this country are the same ones smuggling drugs.

So, in other words, Sheriff, on January 20, 2021, when President Biden, in effect, declared open borders, that is largely what precipitated this massive increase of fentanyl coming into our country. Is that right?

I am glad to see bipartisan legislation being considered today from Representatives Lee and Joyce that would reduce red tape that is holding up the appraisal process for land conveyances.

This is unacceptable, and we need to find ways to streamline and enhance this process.

It just seems to me that it is common sense to get rid of it and let economic development continue in Forest County.

President Biden and his Administration should stop this charade that they believe in building infrastructure in America because they are doing everything to kill it, including by killing mining projects.

What happens to the cost of construction if this is not approved?

Unfortunately, this is not the first time this Subcommittee has heard the story of a local community struggling to develop because the Federal Government is dragging its feet conveying land.

Wildfires are absolutely getting worse and more frequent across the United States, and we need to do all that we can to improve our forest management and add tools to our toolbox, and this bill is just one way of doing that.

Bad actors are exposing vulnerabilities in national security policies created by the Biden Administration and our constituents, as well as everyday Americans, have to pay the price.

It is unacceptable that the Department of Homeland Security wrongly allowed this terrorist into our country through the southern border after identification concluded he was on the terrorist watch list.

Do you believe the Biden administration is building or reducing energy capacity?

This whole myth that has been sold to the American people about the green fantasy... is going to diminish America.

the American taxpayer should pay for the lawyers also.

We are going to need carbon energy here in America, and we are going to need it for a long time to come.

Is carbon a pollutant?

Isn't it a requirement in Federal law that you have to consult and coordinate with States and local municipalities from the Federal level?

I can think of no better way to start out the year than by holding a hearing that highlights the need to rein in out-of-control agency spending, and keep this Administration accountable for the responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.

I implore you to do your best to keep them that way, and keep the mission in mind to increase access for Americans to these parks.
