This notion that somehow there couldn’t be an impeachment trial after the president leaves office, it’s over.
It is clearly constitutional to hold this trial now and to have the vote on disqualification.
I found that troubling as well, and taking this idea of being careful way too far.
I believe this can be done. I do understand the desire to, of course, give Biden a chance to have his first 100 days. But I think people should especially think in terms of what is most likely to lead to a serious opportunity to vote on…
