People weren`t marching in 2020 over voting rights. They weren`t marching over abortion. They were marching because of George Floyd`s police brutality and it`s time for somebody in Washington and state levels to step up.

I just don`t think this is going to be a big political issue everybody thinks it is, because it`s not going to be that big of a change.

Isn't that exactly what is happening here? People are granted entry without consequence.

Nothing is going to fix the problem until we actually talk about the root cause, and the root cause is the credible fear standard.

They will sell children to make a family unit. When I was Chairman, we had testimony that a child was sold for $84 to form a family unit.

There is nothing they can do because that is the policy of this Administration, process and disperse.

The credible fear bar is so low in comparison to what the actual asylum standard is, and until we fix that we are going to continue to have this kind of flow.

Until this Administration is willing to recognize that root cause we are going to have an enormous problem, even though the Secretary will not admit it is a problem.

The reality is, what the people are being told in Central America is largely true.

An open border allows those individuals as well. The 4 to 700,000 known got-aways, some of those people probably would be gang members, right?

I am kind of puzzled by why that is--everybody, you, Christopher Wray, the Chairman keeps talking about that as the greatest threat to this Nation.

Would you agree with me that the 17,815 homicides in 2020 probably represent the greatest threat to human life, all those crimes?

What is broken is the uncontrolled flow caused by your policies of opening up the border.

Fix it. You know how to fix it.

Is the goal of this Administration to actually reduce the flow of illegal immigrants or is the goal just making it more efficient to let them in and disperse them?

I would say something that is causing 17,815 homicides a year is kind of a big threat.

You are allowing it. You are facilitating it. You have caused it.

Why not go back to Return to Mexico, because that worked?

I cannot tell you how many times, as Chairman of this Committee, I talked about the problem-solving process.

You are living in an alternate reality.

You dismantled Return to Mexico. You dismantled those agreements. You send the signal to the world that America's borders are open.

I would contend you broke a system.

Are you aware there is a Department of Justice investigation?

Is there any way for them to doctor the customer satisfaction surveys?

That $30 million a year division, that employs 1,400 people?
