My colleague is correct. Again, USDA Rural Development should be encouraged to be innovative, within their statutory authority, in making grants for the purpose of promoting telework. In addition, USDA should use rural development programs in a manner that will allow rural communities to best take advantage of the potential of new technology and new methods of doing work, such as telework, in building sustainable, diverse rural economies.
