Well, definitely believe that, on this end of the tax code, helping people understand and qualify for these things so that they can make the right decisions is very important.

I am working with Chairman Hatch and many of my colleagues on a bill that would provide a permanent 50-percent increase in the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit.
Thank you for scheduling what is really a very timely hearing on global oil prices, because every family and business across America is feeling the burden of higher fuel prices.
Do you have adequate budget to do the stock assessments that are critical for us to continue to grow this part of our economy?
I appreciate the fact that we're having this hearing to talk about how critically important it is.
What did we get out of the $4 billion tax break, the new tax break in the tax plan that we gave oil companies?
I find that surprising, because most of the things that we've been talking about are issues of not being able to accurately manage the fisheries.
the best thing to do is get us off the roller coaster by diversifying off of oil.
To come here with a reorganization plan that is about efficiency but the bottom line is raising electricity rates 30 to 40 percent... is just, like you said, it is a bad, bad, bad idea.
Both the Energy and Interior Departments seem intent on fixing problems that don't exist instead of solving the ones that do.
At the top of the list is the idea to sell off transmission from the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) and its sister agency, the Tennessee Valley Authority.
It is very, very disturbing that the Secretary of Energy would go as far as sign off on these reorganization ideas when they are the antithesis of where we need to go with cybersecurity and electricity.
Certainly efficiencies in government should be strived for, but I find many of the proposals that are on the table in this hearing today very troubling.
Some of what the President and his Administration have proposed is downright dangerous.
The notion that the President just wants to make electricity more expensive for many, many, many parts of America is just crazy.
The President is illogical as it relates to electricity. He is just trying to make it more expensive.
I cannot thank him enough for being here today to talk about a bill that provides greater economic opportunities for the Chehalis Tribe and Indian Country.
I am concerned that the administration's trade war will jeopardize the jobs and economic impacts supported by our ports.
We need to ensure that we are doing everything we can to support our tribal communities.
As I mentioned, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is our interest in making sure that we don't get caught short.
I am a big fan of reforming the 1872 Mining Law and getting a fair deal for taxpayers and making sure that we update the reclamation standards.
