I think maybe we could say with some conjecture they should have been using it a little more aggressively given what's transpired.
I hope that this will be the first of many subcommittee hearings that we have working together in trying to make progress on our Nation's energy challenges.
But, what is that, what's the 'nimble' part? What would the 'nimble' part be in a structure like that?
it is pretty disgusting that we've had more people trying to cook up exotic toxic assets than willing to spend their time killing bugs on the Internet.
I think this is a very important issue, Mr. Chairman, in the sense that, you know, you get an operating system, people beat on it for months and months and months and months, and try to break the system before it's really introduced.
If we allow overfishing to continue, there will be no fishing left for them or for future generations, and it will completely end the fishing industry in so many communities.
There are incredible opportunities for U.S. technology, and U.S. jobs here at home.
What do you think that the Department of Commerce should be doing in this effort?
I think there is an enormous surge of public commitment, national service. We are going to pass a national service bill.
I understand the NRC is currently considering applications that reference five different reactor designs...
And that information probably would be better than just saying it's a 100-year flood, correct?
I think we need in the Northwest more analysis on that, because wind and hydro go very well together.
We've added Washington State to 100-year floods back to back. So people are saying hmm. They're not really 100-year floods if they're back to back.
But shouldn't we have Federal agencies require taking into consideration these factors into their decisionmaking?
Our shellfish industry is having unbelievable problems on feeding this year just because of the climate change.
I'm actually saying that open season process has been pretty good and the planning has been very good. I mean, it's working.
Part of the issue of doing climate adaptation is that the models and data for the large-scale are so important to then give to the local entities so that they can make regional plans from them.
I actually think that this rate-of-recovery issue is one that we need to spend more time thinking about.
I think people think, 'Well, we just passed this policy, so why not just keep it where it is?'
