In order for tribes to thrive as governments, they need an adequate land base to provide for their members.
I am all for clean energy solutions in China. In fact, I think we should have a zero tariff on all clean energy products around the globe because, if we did, they would all be cheaper for everybody to implement.
This bill is a good example of how effectively governments can work together in ways that are beneficial to the entire community.
But I really appreciate you and Senator Murkowski's leadership on a bipartisan effort.
To me, it's unacceptable to our State, my constituents, to think that Hanford is just going to end up being that repository for that vast amount of high level Defense waste.

I look at this as an immediate impact that my constituents are feeling and our economy is feeling because of the sequester.
A land acquisition on the Carbon River basically allowed us to expand Mount Rainier.
