I just wanted to hear what types of district events you participate in.

There was no help. It wasn't like, 'Oh, this is the way to do it.' You just have to make it happen if you believe in it.

We had to just go around and survey colleagues to try to figure out, how do we do this?

Last year, an additional $1.3 million was provided in anticipation of this? But your budget didn't request an increase for fiscal year 2020.

A couple of questions. One of the things in terms of the substantial changes includes that you are tasked with I believe creating a program to permanently retain records of investigations, medications, hearings, and other proceedings.

As long as the House is not keeping records of employees' medications, I am cool with that.

I look forward to working with you in putting together a bill that adequately addresses the needs of our agencies.

I think it will give me a good look at some of the activities and functions that make up our first branch of government: the legislative branch.

I think, on that particular issue of employee versus independent contractor, Congress could do a lot of good if there were a way to legislate an answer to that question.

So would it be worth our time to spend more of our energy focused on helping people comply, not necessarily taking the penalty approach first off?

I don't think anybody is going to disagree that that is biblical, actually.

It is just absolutely asinine.

The ACA is still the law of the land, and the premiums that my constituents are paying in most of my district...

We have higher maternal mortality rates than any other developed country.

Over 60 percent of maternal deaths are preventable.

The time for action is now.
