Policies that drive renewables at the expense of firm baseload put lives at risk.

There should be a full accounting of what went wrong with Texas' grid failures.

It's my hope that we will focus on solutions today so that this tragedy never happens again, not just in Texas but in other States with dangerous energy-reliable problems too.

We must ensure that this bill protects energy reliability--it is a high expectation of all Americans.

I would urge my colleagues to slow down, think about the damage that it will do to America's workers.

The CLEAN Future Act could eradicate millions of great jobs in fossil, nuclear, and manufacturing while leaving energy workers behind.

None of us on this side of the aisle are embracing the Green New Deal, which has been rebranded by some as the CLEAN Future Act.

We want to build, not destroy. We want to improve our energy systems using all our resources.

Those policies will be mandated nationally under this bill.

The CLEAN Future Act mandates massive electrification on an unprecedented scale and pace, with no regard for cost.

Keeping the lights on is vital to health and safety.

One of our most important jobs is to make sure our Federal laws and policies will enable--not disable--the affordable and reliable delivery of energy and power.

We know an abundant supply of dispatchable, predictable baseload power... is essential for providing power when people need it most.

Our shared goal is cleaner American energy.

And I have heard many wonderful, life-changing stories that people have experienced because of the ACA.

Their end goal is clear: kicking every American off their health insurance plan of choice.

The majority is choosing to go down a path toward government run healthcare, rather than have these important discussions.

The bills today continue us down the path towards socialized medicine that Obamacare started.
