Bernie Sanders: “But after all is said and done, a budget is a statement about our values, about our priorities, and what we as a nation…”

On the recordMarch 21, 2007
But after all is said and done, a budget is a statement about our values, about our priorities, and what we as a nation stand for. That is what a budget is about. In my view, the time is long overdue for the Congress in its budget to get its priorities right, and by that I mean to begin to stand up for the vast majority of our people--the middle class, the working families of this country--rather than just the large multinational corporations and the wealthiest people in our Nation who year after year have had their way on budget initiatives.
