I cannot accept that the United States Government can't do anything. I cannot accept that.

when the Federal Reserve ventures out of monetary policy, and they expand into regulatory policies and practices, they actually hurt parts of the financial world that had nothing to do with financial crisis.

I am increasingly concerned about the impact of Dodd-Frank regulations on real economy, economic growth, and especially job creation.

I agree with my colleague on the other side of the aisle, Representative Scott, when he talks about the large number of unemployment with our young Black Americans.

This is why Washington is a problem. This is why you are the problem, sir.

You can't be a compassionate institution because everything you do is through force.

Thank goodness for Congress that is looking out for the American people, not the CFPB.

I think it is the responsibility of the CFPB to stop collecting this data or at least tell the American public why this is being collected.

I don't think anyone in this body is saying that we didn't have to address a financial crisis, but sometimes too much medicine is really bad also, and can actually hurt.

I think that any time we find discrimination, we should have a hearing on it, and we should call people out; we should weed them all out.

If we are not dealing with the issues that we have here, what kind of credibility do we have anywhere?

This is not about one aisle against another aisle. This is about people, this is about our children, it is about making sure that we create an environment in which they are free to be as ordinary or as extraordinary as they choose to be.

I want you to know that I am proud of who I am. I am proud of my color, I am proud of my heritage, I am proud of my State, I am proud of my country.

I think that we have an obligation to do whatever we can to make sure that everyone has the right to work in a place and not feel as if they are going to be discriminated against or feel as if they talk about it they won't be retaliated…

I am having a hard time believing this argument that this bank doesn't pick winners and losers.

This is not based on fiscal issues. This is not based on party issues. This is what we have to do, and that is you are protecting life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This is a moral issue.

I believe, and I believe that Utah believes, and the majority of hardworking Americans believe that if Washington bureaucrats actually asked those same questions, we wouldn't be in the financial crisis that we are in today.
