Border patrol agents are doing everything they can to take care of the situation, but they're completely overwhelmed, completely, just, overwhelmed with the situation. And it's getting worse.

Tony Gonzales is a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Texas's 23rd congressional district since January 3, 2021. A member of the Republican Party, Gonzales has focused on issues such as border security, veterans' affairs, and economic development in his district, which spans a large area of southwestern Texas. He has been an advocate for policies aimed at addressing the challenges faced by his constituents, particularly in relation to immigration and law enforcement.
We have to find 218 votes however we can, and push things over the finish line.
I think the people of his district need representation and they're not getting that right now.
I think it would work. Everyone I talk to is saying raise the credible fear standards is a good start.
I don't want to see a shutdown, but there is no doubt in my mind that the country is headed for a shutdown, and everyone should prepare as such.
What we need to do is draw a hard line in the sand and pass appropriation bills and move that over to the Senate and work with the Senate to get this ultimately signed by the president.
