I thank the gentlewoman for yielding. We heard on this floor, Mr. Speaker, God bless America, and now we know that America is sick and needs that blessing. Her lives, her livelihood are sick. This is not Speaker Pelosi's bill. This is America's bill. And I am glad to stand here and support heroes who will get $200 billion, including transit workers. I am glad we will get more direct payments, $6,000, to families that are desperate. I am glad that there will be testing and contact tracing that will help save lives. I am glad that local governments--my mayor is suffering--$375 billion. And I am delighted to make sure that we know that the hungry people in the streets will get food. I support the HEROES legislation. Mr. Speaker, as a senior member of the Committees on the Judiciary and on Homeland Security, and founder and Co-Chair of the Congressional Coronavirus Taskforce, I rise in strong support of H.R. 6800, the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions Act, or HEROES Act, the most installment of the necessary assistance and relief provided by Congress to address the adverse health and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The HEROES Act provides an additional $75 billion for the testing, tracing, and treatment we need in order to have a science-based path to safely reopen our country and helping ensure that every American can access free coronavirus treatment.…
